Harris Coggin tackled a high quality total renovation and addition to Mountain Brook Club’s existing Pool Pavilion. Construction commenced in October of 2018 with the understanding the pool pavilion must be ready for the Grand Opening on Memorial Day, 2019. Birmingham suffered record rainfall during the first quarter of 2019 which resulted in 28 rain days on the project but Harris Coggin pushed through this difficult circumstance and completed the project on time!
The project consisted of the addition of a new zero entry baby pool, new check-in pavilion, a building addition containing new staff breakroom, laundry, storage, a new covered dining area, outdoor full service bar, new dining terrace with fire pit, and an addition of approximately 1,600 square feet of sunbathing terrace covered by a cedar canopy with 1,600 SF of underground storage below. Inside the existing pool pavilion building, both the Women’s and Men’s bathrooms were completely renovated to house showers, dressing rooms, vanities, and lockers. New pool barrier railing was installed along with new LED post lights for the baby pool. The project was a true team effort between Mountain Brook Club, Henry Sprott Long & Associates architects, & Harris Coggin. The project was a huge success and the members have been enjoying the new experience ever since!
